The mission of the smart data models is to promote interoperability could be to provide shared, standard, data models that can be used by a wide range of organizations and systems to facilitate data exchange and interoperability.
The vision for such a data model might be to become the de facto standard for data interoperability, widely adopted and used by organizations across various industries and sectors.
To achieve this vision, the Smart Data Models community might focus on building and maintaining a data model that is:
- Flexible and extensible, allowing it to be adapted to a wide range of use cases and industries. Few required attributes and free to use whatever attributes are defined in them.
- Well-documented (8 languages, EN, FR, DE, IT, JA, SP, ZH, KO) and easy to understand, making it accessible to a wide range of users
- Based on best practices (actual use cases) and open and adopted industry standards, ensuring that they are reliable and trustworthy
- Supported by a strong and active community of contributors and users, and with some relevant integrations and endorsements ensuring that it continues to evolve and improve over time
