1.- What is Smart Data Models Program. <\/span>
Smart Data Models program is a collaborative program to provide multisector agile standardized free and open-licensed data models based on actual use cases and open standards<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
2.- Who supports the program?. <\/span>
Currently<\/span> FIWARE Foundation<\/a>, IUDX<\/a>, TMForum<\/a>, and<\/span> OASC<\/a> are its steering board members. Other 110 organizations <\/span>have already contributed<\/a>.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
3.- Can I use these data models for free? <\/span>
Absolutely. They are open-licensed allowing you free use, modification, and sharing.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
4-. Where do these data models come from? <\/span>
They are based on real case scenarios or mapping of adopted and open standards<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
5.- Do I have to use the FIWARE platform or the NGSI standard to use them. <\/span>
Not at all. They are compatible with it but we also export in several other formats (CSV, DTDL, etc)<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
6.- I want to contribute with a new data model. What should I do? <\/span>
Contribution is done by making a PR on the repositories. It would be good you have a look at the contribution manual<\/span> (https:\/\/bit.ly\/contribution_manual)<\/a>. You only need to create a JSON schema and provide some examples of use. If you are not familiar with JSON schema<\/span> this too<\/a>l and<\/span> these videos<\/a> will help you.<\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
7.- I guess that I need some support for creating the data model. How could I find it?<\/span>
You can apply for the incubated repository where most of the data models are drafted before being approved. Just click on the green button on the<\/span> front page<\/a> or<\/span> this link<\/a>. See what is in progress on<\/span> this list<\/a>. You can always<\/span> contact us<\/a> or drop us an<\/span> email<\/a>.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
8.- How could I find a data model?<\/span>
The<\/span> search tool<\/a> allows you to search every property, data model, description, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n
9.- My organization is willing to be part of the Steering Board. What do I need to do?.<\/span>
A MoU is required and it is possible to collaborate globally or for some of the domains (environmental, robotics, etc). Let’s start with a mail at <\/span>info@smartdatamodels.org<\/span><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n
10.- How to deal with units of the attributes<\/span>
NGSIv2 include units in the metadata associated with any attribute stored, while NGSI-LD has a built-in subproperty named UnitCode where the units should be included. For some of the attributes, there are recommendations about the units to be used.
